This transformative session of the Spiritual Mental Health Diet will take you on a bright and beautiful journey of self care and self discovery that will manifest in movement and progress toward 3 life goals that are important to you right now. We will use yoga philosophy, simple Ayurvedic healing techniques and practices for daily calm and focus. Through the collective group energy and the joy of living in presence as we tend the seeds of our future - we will bring personal meaning and purpose into high focus. Whether you want to bring more peace and joy into your life, learn to trust your intuition more, or jumpstart a new project, service or chapter in your life - this is the SMHD session for you.
Yoga is both a goal oriented practice and a path of present minded awareness where the journey is emphasized as the most important part of living. We need a balance of action and surrender, movement and stillness, push and rest in order to grow.
Growth is a natural state and as long as we are growing, we are truly living.
In the last 3 years, many of us have lost our sense of continuity, our patterns, habits and behaviors have been disrupted by covid, personal losses, lifestyle changes, financial challenges and health concerns. I personally have been through the hardest time in my life. I am here to walk alongside you as we forge ahead on the path that is always our right path - GROWTH. We seek the light like a plant pushing upward from the forest floor or crack in the city sidewalk.

WHAT IT IS:
SMHD is really a "LIVE-IT" - it's about LIVING more peacefully, healthfully and joyfully. Like any good diet we take some things out and we add some things in. Through the wisdom practices we will weed out and release the limiting factors in body and mind, while we build a toolkit that will keep you connected to your natural brightest essence. HUMAN means - "light of the mind" so as we empty the mind of clutter we fill with light. Drawing mainly from Yoga and Ayurveda as well as soulful and healthful practices from other cultures, we will travel week by week through Mind, Body and Spirit. This course is rooted in actionable practical applications to decrease the stress responses in the body and mind which results in a healthier relationship with yourself and others. The program will culminate in creating your personalized daily practice (Sadhana) drawing on all that you have covered and experienced in the previous weeks, with Christine's guidance and the powerful energy of the group!
WHO IS CHRISTINE BURKE...
Christine is a lifelong student and teacher of 23 years of all things related to personal development, health and lifestyle practices, yoga and yoga philosophy, emotional and physical well being. She is passionate about supporting the elevation of your life through empowered choices and active awareness and compassion. Though her first memory of spiritual pondering was at the age of 8 when she became keenly aware that we have only this moment, it wasn't until her 20's that she truly "found yoga". Christine stepped into yoga as an actress & dancer in New York in 1994, which was a life shifting moment for her. In 2000, she received her first certification in Los Angeles as a 200-hour level teacher. She has been teaching full time ever since. She's a Registered Yoga Teacher with Yoga Alliance at 800 hour-plus level and has taught thousands of students of all ages. Christine and her husband, Gary McCleery, opened Liberation Yoga in 2004.. The studio has been named in the 'Top 20 Yoga Studios In The World' by Travel + Leisure Magazine, 'Best Yoga Studio in LA' by LA Weekly and named in the 'Top Ten Most Beautiful Yoga Studios in the U.S. by tripping.com among other awards and accolades. Christine's writing has been featured in LA Yoga and Yogi Times, her teaching featured in LA Times, LA Weekly, Yogi Times, LA Yoga, Westways Magazine, Great Yoga Teachers and many online magazines. Christine's first book, The Yoga Healer, was awarded "The Best Yoga Book" by Soul & Spirit Magazine and her second book "The Power of Hand Yoga, Pranayama and Mudras for Health and Well Being" was also awarded. She has been the yoga & meditation teacher at the renowned Marlborough School since 2012. She is a Grief Educator and workshop facilitator and has been leading her SMHD program 4 times per year since 2018. Christine lives happily and in gratitude for her Liberation community, her family and her LIFE, sharing the gift of yoga in Los Angeles, with her daughter, Clementine, the spirit of her beloved husband, and their companion animals.
